Picture it! Summer, 2013. I was obsessed with the Indigo Girls and I really wanted to see them in concert. I wasn't able to due to being in a production of The Miracle Worker; but I wrote this song in my pent up love for them and then made it my own. I hope you like it!

I gather my thoughts gazing into the sun.
It feels like it's just started, now we're done.
It's hard to see with the tears in my eyes.
All that I've lived for is beginning to die.
And I look for a sign.
In another glass of wine.

Just like Apollo drove the chariot of fire.
You lit me up with a feeling no brighter
Than all those things that came before us.
We thought we knew them too.
The feeling was you.

I hand wrote the letters that I gave to the man.
He ripped them up, said he had a better plan.
I tried taping them together but the pieces wouldn't stick!
I felt like rubber chasing glue.
Chasing after you.

Just like Apollo drove the chariot of fire.
You lit me up with a feeling no brighter
Than all those things that came before us.
We thought we knew them too.
The feeling was you.

Though it's hard to see just
Everything you've done to me.
I hope that you remember all
Those things I did for you.
And from the spaces in between those words
Comes a deeper power.
A deeper power!
